BBC: Where tech and fashion come together
The BBC explores the meeting of fashion and wearable technology — with context from the ETH research environment from which antavi later emerged.
The BBC dedicates a feature to the question of how wearable technology and fashion converge — contextualised by researchers from the Wearable Computing Lab of ETH Zürich, the environment from which antavi emerged.
The piece appeared at a time when the first consumer-grade smartwatches and fitness trackers were carrying activity-recognition research into the mass market. These very methods — robust sensing, anonymised movement data, derived activity patterns — form the basis of the crowd sensing with which antavi today supports organisers and security forces.
