Netzwoche introduces an app that records users’ daily movement — methodologically closely linked to the research at the Wearable Computing Lab of ETH Zürich, from which antavi emerged.
The article explains how activity patterns such as walking, standing or climbing stairs are recognised from smartphone sensors. The same methodology is now applied by antavi to large crowds: from aggregated movement signals emerges a unified operating picture for organisers, police and medical services.
