SRF: Robot vacuum cleaners survey the home
SRF shows how robot vacuum cleaners survey homes — contextualised by ETH research into sensor technology and activity recognition, from which antavi emerged.
SRF shows how modern robot vacuum cleaners use sensors and mapping to survey the home — contextualised by the Wearable Computing Lab of ETH Zürich, the environment from which antavi emerged.
The piece illustrates how distance, orientation and image sensors combine into a coherent model of the surroundings. The same principle — fusing heterogeneous sensor sources into an intelligible picture — underlies the operating picture with which antavi today supports organisers, medical services and security forces.
