How do I report Crowdspotter densities?

Crowd densities are estimates, not measurements — they give the operations centre a real-time picture of the situation.

What you report

An estimated value at a specific location. It works like this:

• State: 0–100 % or a classification (e.g. loose / dense / critical) — depending on how the action is configured for your event
• Attach a photo: An image gives the operations centre eyes on site — the multi-image field also allows several shots
• Don’t archive yourself: Density reports are snapshots
• Automatic archiving after 15 minutes: An outdated density is no longer information, it is misinformation — so the system cleans up by itself

How it works in the app

1. Open the Crowdspotter action (or tap the map at your position and select it)
2. The location is taken from GPS or set on the map — use the grid map to double-check
3. Enter your estimate, optionally add a photo, send — done in under 30 seconds

What the operations centre sees

All density reports appear as markers on the map and in the Activity Dashboard. Many individual estimates combine into an area-wide picture: Where is it getting denser? Where is the crowd moving? So report uncritical states too — only coverage makes the picture.

Rule of thumb: Better a rough estimate now than an exact count too late.
